Questions Panel
At what age should I start training my puppy?
Training should begin as early as 8 weeks old. Puppies are highly impressionable at this stage, making it the perfect time to introduce basic commands, socialization, and housebreaking. Early training helps prevent bad habits from forming and builds a strong foundation for good behavior.
Is my dog too old to be trained?
No, dogs of all ages can learn new behaviors! While puppies absorb information quickly, older dogs can still be trained successfully with patience and consistency. Whether your pet is a young pup or a senior dog, positive reinforcement techniques can help improve obedience and correct behavioral issues.
How long does it take to train a dog?
The training timeline varies depending on the dog’s age, breed, temperament, and prior experiences. Basic obedience training may take a few weeks to a couple of months, while behavior modification for more complex issues may require additional time and reinforcement. Consistency at home is key to long-term success.
What training methods do you use?
We use positive reinforcement training, which involves rewarding good behavior with treats, praise, or toys. This method builds trust and encourages dogs to repeat desired behaviors. We do not use harsh punishments, dominance-based training, or forceful techniques.
Do you offer training for aggressive or reactive dogs?
Yes, we specialize in behavior modification for aggressive or reactive dogs. Our trainers assess the underlying causes of aggression—whether fear, territorial instincts, or past trauma—and create a customized training plan to help your dog develop better coping mechanisms.
Will my dog listen to me after training, or just the trainer?
Our goal is to ensure that you and your dog develop a strong communication bond. We involve pet owners in the training process so that you can reinforce what your dog learns. Practicing commands at home and staying consistent will ensure long-term obedience.
Do you train other animals besides dogs?
Yes! While dogs are our primary focus, we also offer training for cats, birds, and small pets. Using positive reinforcement, we can help teach good manners, litter training, and behavior correction for other companion animals.
What types of training programs do you offer?
We provide a range of training programs, including:
• Puppy training & socialization
• Basic and advanced obedience
• Behavior modification (aggression, anxiety, etc.)
• Off-leash training
• Service and therapy dog training
• Board & Train programs
• Private one-on-one training
• Group training classes
What’s the difference between private training and group classes?
• Private training is personalized, allowing us to focus on specific behaviors or challenges unique to your dog. It’s ideal for dogs with behavior issues or special training needs.
• Group classes help dogs learn in a social setting, improving their obedience and ability to focus around distractions. They are great for building social skills and reinforcing commands in a structured environment.
How does your Board & Train program work?
Our Board & Train program allows your dog to stay at our facility for an intensive training experience. During their stay, they receive daily training sessions, structured socialization, and behavior reinforcement. This program is ideal for owners who want faster results or need help addressing challenging behaviors.
